Root canal treatment
Endodontics refers to treatments of the inside of your tooth, commonly known as “root canal treatments.” At Ardentis, our specialists use modern, pain-free techniques to save teeth affected by infection or deep damage, helping preserve your natural smile.
THE ESSENTIAL
Endodontics treats the inside of your tooth when it is infected or damaged. Through precise and safe care, Ardentis preserves your natural teeth, prevents extractions, and restores comfort and oral health.
What is endodontics?
Endodontics is the dental specialty that treats the dental pulp inside your tooth, which includes the nerve and blood vessels. Endodontic treatment, often called root canal therapy, is required when a deep cavity, trauma or infection affects this sensitive area. The goal is to clean, disinfect and seal the inside of your tooth to relieve pain and prevent complications.
Endodontic Treatment Procedure
- Comprehensive diagnosis: your dentist performs a clinical and radiographic examination of the affected tooth. This allows the assessment of the extent of the cavity, fracture or infection.
- Personalised treatment: local anesthesia is administered to ensure painless care. The tooth canals are then thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, followed by a sealed root filling to prevent reinfection.
- Regular follow-up: radiographic and clinical check-ups are carried out to monitor healing. If necessary, a crown is placed to ensure long-term strength of your tooth.

“Keeping your natural tooth is keeping your authenticity.”
Frequently Asked Questions about Endodontics
When is endodontic treatment necessary?
Treatment is required when a deep cavity, fracture or infection reaches the pulp of your tooth. Common signs include severe pain, sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling or an abscess.
Is the treatment painful?
No. Thanks to local anesthesia and modern techniques, the procedure is painless for you. Any pain you may have experienced before treatment usually disappears quickly afterward.
How long does endodontic treatment take?
The duration depends on the complexity of the tooth (number of roots, infection). A session generally lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, and sometimes two sessions are needed.
What happens after endodontic treatment?
The treated tooth remains functional. To reinforce its strength, a restoration (filling, inlay or crown) is often placed. This helps preserve your tooth in the long term.
Does endodontic treatment guarantee the tooth’s survival?
In most cases, yes. When properly performed and followed by an appropriate restoration, the treatment allows you to preserve your tooth for many years, potentially for a lifetime.
