Dental prosthetics
Dental prostheses allow you to restore both functional and aesthetic dentition. At Ardentis, our specialists design fully customized fixed or removable solutions to ensure your comfort, stability, and a natural-looking smile tailored to your needs.
THE ESSENTIAL
Dental prostheses help you regain comfort, aesthetics, and function when teeth are missing. At Ardentis, they are custom-made in our own dental laboratory Dental·Lab in Puidoux, with a high level of precision and Swiss quality (Swiss Made).
What is a dental prosthesis?
A dental prosthesis is a medical device that allows you to rebuild a damaged tooth or replace one or more missing teeth. It plays an essential role in restoring proper chewing function, maintaining your oral health, and improving the appearance of your smile. At Ardentis, we offer fixed or removable solutions tailored to your needs to ensure comfort and long-lasting results.
Why use dental prosthetics?
Dental prostheses help you regain effective chewing, a harmonious smile, and clear speech. They also contribute to maintaining proper tooth alignment and oral balance, while restoring your daily comfort and confidence.
Prosthetic Treatment Procedure at Ardentis
- Consultation and personalized diagnosis: During your initial consultation, a clinical and radiological examination is performed to assess your aesthetic and functional needs. A personalized digital treatment plan is then created.
- Custom design: Your prosthesis is custom-designed in our in-house laboratory, Dental·Lab Ardentis in Puidoux. Computer-assisted planning and simulation ensure precision and reliability.
- Manufacturing and placement: The entire process follows a 100% digital workflow, from the digital impression taken in your mouth to the design and fabrication in the laboratory. The fixed or removable prosthesis is then placed, with careful adjustments and stability checks.
- Follow-up and monitoring: Regular follow-up appointments are scheduled to ensure your comfort and the long-term success of your prosthesis.
The different types of dental prosthetics
- Fixed prosthesis: Crowns, bridges, or implant-supported prostheses provide you with a durable and aesthetic solution that closely resembles your natural teeth in both appearance and comfort.
- Removable prosthesis: Partial or complete, it can be removed for daily cleaning. It is a practical and more affordable alternative, often used as a transitional solution depending on your needs.
- Hybrid prosthesis: This option combines implants and natural anchors to offer you greater stability than a conventional removable prosthesis, while improving your daily comfort.

“A well-made prosthesis gives a second youth to your smile.”
Frequently Asked Questions about Dental Prostheses
What is a dental prosthesis?
A dental prosthesis is a medical device that replaces one or more missing teeth or restores a damaged tooth. It can be fixed (crown, bridge, implant) or removable (partial or complete). Its purpose is to restore chewing function, aesthetics, and speech while preventing the shifting of other teeth.
What is the difference between fixed and removable prostheses?
A fixed prosthesis is cemented onto natural teeth or implants (e.g., crown, bridge) and cannot be removed, providing comfort similar to natural teeth. A removable prosthesis can be taken out for cleaning. It is a more economical solution and is often used as a temporary measure.
How long does a dental prosthesis last?
Longevity depends on the type of prosthesis, materials used, and oral hygiene. A well-maintained fixed prosthesis can last 10 to 15 years, sometimes longer. Removable prostheses require more regular adjustments and follow-up. Annual dental check-ups are recommended.
How much does a dental prosthesis cost in Switzerland?
Costs vary depending on the type (fixed, removable, hybrid), the number of teeth being replaced, and the materials chosen. As a guideline, a crown can cost between 1,500 and 2,000 CHF, while a complete removable prosthesis starts around 2,500 CHF. A personalized estimate is always provided before treatment.
Are dental prostheses covered by insurance?
In Switzerland, dental prostheses are generally not covered by basic insurance (LAMal). However, some supplementary insurance plans may cover part of the cost, depending on the contract. For specific medical cases (malformations, accidents), a special request can be made to the insurance company.
