THE ESSENTIAL
Dental emergencies require prompt care. Ardentis provides treatment seven days a week to relieve pain and address the issue effectively on the same day or within 24 hours.
In the event of a dental emergency, you are never alone
The Ardentis Group answers your calls and provides care 7 days a week for dental emergencies throughout French-speaking Switzerland. We guarantee fast, pain-free treatment on the same day or within 24 hours, from Monday to Sunday, including public holidays.
Sudden toothache? A dental accident? A broken tooth? Dental trauma most often occurs during sports or leisure activities. Young people are particularly affected: nearly 50% of children and teenagers experience a dental accident before the age of sixteen. Dental trauma during childhood can have serious lifelong consequences. Prompt, high-quality care is the only way to preserve teeth that have been severely damaged as a result of an accident.
Ardentis teams are present throughout French-speaking Switzerland to provide emergency care. Do not hesitate to call us on 058 234 00 00 so that we can direct you to the nearest open clinic.
When should I seek dental emergency care?
A dental emergency occurs when pain or a lesion requires immediate attention, such as:
- Sudden tooth pain (abscess, advanced cavity, pulpitis)
- A broken or displaced tooth
- Dental trauma (sports accident, fall, blow)
- Oral infection with swelling or fever
Why act quickly in case of dental trauma?
Nearly 50% of children and adolescents experience a dental accident before the age of sixteen. If not treated promptly, dental trauma can have lifelong consequences. Immediate care is the only way to save a severely damaged tooth.

Frequently Asked Questions about Dental Emergencies
What is a dental emergency?
A dental emergency involves any sudden pain, infection, broken tooth or trauma that requires immediate care. It can occur after an accident, a blow, advanced decay or an infection. Prompt consultation helps you prevent complications and effectively relieves pain.
When should I seek emergency care?
You should seek care immediately in case of severe pain, facial swelling, persistent bleeding, or after an accident. In children, dental trauma should always be taken seriously, as untreated injuries can have long-term consequences.
Does Ardentis handle emergencies on weekends?
Yes. Ardentis clinics provide emergency dental care 7 days a week, including public holidays. We answer your calls on weekdays from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Outside these hours, please contact the cantonal emergency service, whose phone number can be found on each clinic’s page.
What should I do if I break a tooth or lose it completely?
Keep the tooth or fragment in milk or saliva, and see a dentist as soon as possible. In some cases, the tooth can be reattached or saved. Avoid touching the root and do not clean the tooth with soap or abrasive products. Prompt treatment (ideally within 1 hour) increases the chances of success.
How much does a dental emergency cost in Switzerland?
Costs depend on the type of care (cleaning, filling, extraction, root canal, etc.). Emergency consultations typically range from CHF 100 to 300, excluding treatment. Some insurance plans may cover part of the costs, especially in case of accidents (LAA).
